Proofreading
After a work is copy edited, a proofread will ensure that any post-editing alterations made by the author/client are error-free; that no typos remain; that the headings and body text are stylized according to the intended design; that widows and orphans are marked for revision; and that end-of-line hyphenation is consistent with current guidelines.
Cathy started her career as an in-house proofreader for a major North American fiction publisher. Since entering the freelancing realm, her proofreading skills have expanded beyond fiction into textbooks, nonfiction books, and online materials.
